Princeton Optronics (a member of ams Group) is seeking a highly qualified individual, with a B.S or M.S in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field, and strong communication and analytical skills. The individual should have a good background in semiconductor laser diode physics. Experience with testing and characterization of VCSELs, laser diodes, or other semiconductor devices is desirable, but not essential. The individual should have a working knowledge of electrical and optical test equipment as well as test/process automation. Individual will be responsible for developing test and diagnostic platforms for optoelectronic components, as well as the characterization and data analysis of novel laser diodes.

Main job responsibilities:

  1. Perform testing and characterization of high-power semiconductor lasers
  2. Develop test stations for high-power laser device characterization for R&D and manufacturing, including test equipment and components sourcing, hardware integration and automation.
  3. In cooperation with mechanical engineers design and procure test fixtures
  4. Develop test procedures and specifications, understand capabilities and limitations of testing equipment be familiar with GR&R and calibration methods
  5. Document test procedures, train and supervise operators
  6. Analyze test data and characterization results
  7. Prepare and present test summaries and characterization reports.

Qualifications:

  • B.S or M.S in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
  • 5-10 yrs experience in testing and characterization of electronic components, preferably semiconductor lasers
  • Good understanding of semiconductor laser diode physics and main laser laser diode characteristics (electrical, optical, spectral, thermal etc)
  • Good programing skills and test automation experience with Matlab, Phyton, C+ or similar.
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially in MS Excel

Princeton Optronics (a member of the ams Group) is engaged in the development and manufacture of high power vertical cavity surface emitting Lasers (VCSELs) and other high performance laser systems.  We are seeking a highly qualified individual to perform semiconductor manufacturing and support equipment’s preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, and modifications as assigned within the wafer fabrication and finishing areas.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn other software.
  • Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capable of demonstrating a working knowledge of problem solving, fault finding, and analysis using a range of standard practices and techniques.
  • Reads and understands electronic, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facilities schematics. Understand high vacuum system and plasma system.
  • Maintains hazardous and inert gas handling systems to include cylinder changes.
  • Orders parts and materials that are required to complete assigned tasks. Responsible for spare and repair parts ordering.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and the hazards of working with and around chemicals.
  • Occasional lifting of objects of up to 70 pounds.
  • Repairs and maintains chemical and solvent handling equipment.
  • Repairs and calibrates process equipment requiring high vacuum equipment and associated support systems.
  • Performs daily checks and inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate in Engineering- will consider candidates with high school background with experience.
  • Equipment maintenance experience in the semi-conductor industry is a plus.
  • Training in the handling of hazardous chemicals, gases, and materials.

The individual should have a thorough knowledge and extensive experience in semiconductor laser physics, reliability, failure analysis, and lifetime statistical models. Strong analytical and communication skills are a must. Familiarity with the ALTA/Weibull++ line of software is highly desirable.

The individual will be responsible for studying the lifetime and managing qualification programs of Princeton Optronics’ VCSELs.

We are looking for a highly skilled Manufacture/Packaging Engineer, whose responsibilities include:

  • Support projects related to production and process development, develop module packaging and assembly processes in the pilot line;
  • Support a variety of tasks, collaborate with the design team and the reliability test team;
  • Support production and ramp up of new products and production processes, collaborate with the contract manufacturer (CM);
  • Lead the key packaging or assembly processes including die bonding, ball and wedge wire bonding, PCB assembly

Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of working experience in LASER and LED industry; hands-on experience with lasers, LEDs packaging are a plus.
  • Knowledge in SPC, DOE, and six- sigma.
  • Familiar with quality system and reliability testing.

Education/Requirements:

  •  BS/MS degree on Electrical Engineering or Physics or other science major;

About the Job:

Application engineer would need to interface with the customers on their technical requirements and determine if our technology can meet their requirements. Additionally, interface with our own technical, manufacturing and quality control people to see if customer requirements can be met in a timely fashion as desired by the customer. The engineer should have knowledge on diode lasers and VCSELs, on quality and reliability as well as fabrication and testing methods of such devices. Detailed knowledge of the performance and other characteristics of diode lasers and VCSEL would be necessary qualifications for the job.

Job duties will include:

  • Interfacing with customers and determine if our technology can solve customer problems and offer solutions to customers.
  • Interface with AMS sales team and helping them with their technical questions related to customer needs.
  • Visit customers when sales team/customers require.
  • Interface with internal engineering, manufacturing, reliability, test and qualification teams and get their input on customer questions and inform customers accordingly.

Minimum Experience:

5+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry or relevant PhD work.  Experience in applications engineering or in marketing or sales would be a plus. Very good knowledge on diode lasers is required for this position.

Education:

Minimum level of requirement:  Bachelor’s Degree in  Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or Physics or related field in optoelectronics.  Masters or PhD would be a plus.

Program Manager–  Reporting to/Function:  Head PMO  (Full Time)

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical/scientific field of study and at least five years of project management experience.
  • Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Over 5 yrs of experience and a proven track record in the Semiconductor or Sensor Industry
  • Excellent leadership and social competence to form and inspire successful cross functional project teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to anticipate issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
  • Proficient in English, with outstanding leadership, presentation skills and written/verbal communication

Key Tasks/Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the right product is developed to meet or exceed company’s quality standard and is delivered at the right time.
  • Facilitate the communication and interaction among the functional representatives
  • Track program against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to supervisor on a regular basis and executive staff on an as needed basis.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities
  • Coordinate with customers, through marketing and sales, to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback
  • Contribute and act as team player with a visible “what ́s best for ams” mentality
