PRINCETON OPTRONICS INC. INTRODUCES A LOW COST 1064nm FIBER LASER SEED LASER

January 25, 2008

Princeton Optronics announces release of a low cost fiber laser seed laser at 1064nm based on VCSEL technology. The chip on submount product has a CW power of 3mW and in pulsed mode (pulse width of 5-100ns)has a peak power of 80mW. The linewidth of the laser is <50MHz. The laser is immune to reflected light as the VCSEL output coupler has very high reflectivity (>99.5%). The output beam is circular and can be easily coupled to a single mode fiber. The laser does not mode hop (between longitudinal modes) during modulation. The seed laser is ideal for application of pulsed fiber lasers as well as fiber laser amplifiers.
